Lotus Petal Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 to provide equal opportunities for underprivileged children living in the urban slums of Gurugram, Haryana, India. The Foundation has over 11 years of grassroots-level expertise in handling challenges faced by underprivileged children and transforming their lives through education, nutrition and skill development & livelihood support.
To provide education to underprivileged children living in Gurgaon's slums, the Vidyananda School, Pratishthan Learning Center, and Lotus Petal Sr. Secondary School were founded. Additionally, the Lotus Petal Foundation runs the Vidya Sahyog programme, through which we offer real-time, interactive online lessons and infrastructure support to schools in rural areas of India.
The importance of eating regularly to maintain health and ward off disease cannot be overstated. Initiatives like Aarogya Wellness, E-Doctor Sewa at TeleMedicine Center (TMC), and Zero Hunger Food Bank take care of the students' health and nutrition. Parents of our kids and members of their neighbourhood benefit from E-Doctor Sewa.
The key to reducing poverty is having stable economic conditions and decent means of basic necessities. For greater employability, the Jeevika programme focuses on giving students training in skill development. During the pandemic, Lotus Petal Foundation also launched the BlueKhoj programme to connect school-age parents with employers.
Malnutrition is a matter of great concern for all nations around the globe. While it is a worldwide problem, it is the children and women living in poverty who are most affected.
Because of the pandemic, many people lost their sources of livelihoods and were further pushed into poverty, this affected their consumption of food and weakened their nutritional status.

Junior school children come from Silokhra village. Senior school children come from Sohna Road, Badshahpur, Sikanderpur, Silokhra, Golf course road, Chakkarpur.
We offer both academic and non-academic volunteering options like teaching in our schools, counselling, and library maintenance to name a few. We follow the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) board where students have the flexibility to choose subjects as per their aptitude and capability. The primary curriculum is as prescribed by NCERT. The medium of education is English. Communication classes, dance, theatre and a fitness program is woven into their schedule to build confidence and help over-all personality development.
