Lotus Petal Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 to provide equal opportunities for underprivileged children living in the urban slums of Gurugram, Haryana, India. The Foundation has over 11 years of grassroots-level expertise in handling challenges faced by underprivileged children and transforming their lives through education, nutrition and skill development & livelihood support.

The Lotus Petal Foundation prioritises education and runs three schools: the Vidyananda Feeder School, the Pratishthan Learning Center, and the Lotus Petal Sr. Secondary School, which is a fast-track learning facility for dropouts. Deserving students can receive scholarships, and partner schools across India can benefit from the Vidya Sahyog program's online learning assistance.

A healthy diet is essential for keeping your body in good health and preventing diseases. TeleMedicine Center: offers healthcare services to residents of the community. Aarogya Wellness: focuses on the students' overall physical and mental well-being Zero Hunger Food Bank: manages school meals.

A decent, secure, and honourable means of subsistence should be a fundamental human right for everyone. It is crucial for reducing poverty to have a stable economy and sufficient means of livelihood. Lotus Petal Foundation runs: Jeevika vocational skill training programme accredited by the NSDC BlueKhoj portal for parents looking for employment assistance.

Do I get a tax benefit if I donate? arrow

All monetary Donations made via online transfer / cheque are eligible for a tax benefit. We are a registered charity in certain countries – donations made in India/ UK/ USA and Canada get tax exemption as well.

Do I get a tax benefit if I donate in kind? arrow

No. Only monetary donations are eligible for Tax benefits. We do however, provide a receipt for all donations in cash & kind.

Where do the students come from? arrow

Junior school children come from Silokhra village. Senior school children come from Sohna Road, Badshahpur, Sikanderpur, Silokhra, Golf course road, Chakkarpur.

Who can volunteer? arrow

We offer both academic and non-academic volunteering options like teaching in our schools, counselling, and library maintenance to name a few. Join our Volunteering group to provide online or offline academic support, guidance, motivation and life skill training to the students of various age groups staying home in the urban slums of Gurugram, India.

What school system do you follow? arrow

We follow the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) board where students have the flexibility to choose subjects as per their aptitude and capability. The primary curriculum is as prescribed by NCERT. The medium of education is English. Communication classes, dance, theatre and a fitness program is woven into their schedule to build confidence and help over-all personality development.
