Location: New York/ San Francisco/ Bay Area

Reports To: Executive Director/Board Member

About the Organization

Lotus Petal USA is a non-profit corporation and a public charity, taxexempt under IRC section 501 (c) (3). The organization is led by Mr. Pankaj Kumar Verma, Chairman and ten supporting board members across United States. Lotus Petal USA, comprises of individuals who are looking towards utilizing their skills and time for creating a better life for the underserved. The quest for looking beyond work and finding novel ways to mobilize the community, friends, family and network to garner support in multiple ways to create educational & livelihood opportunities that enable people to live a life of dignity.

The groups is spread across the United States and they volunteer time to organize events & engagement opportunities that help in creating awareness & in turn raise funds One of its objectives is to support holistic education of underprivileged children in India.

Purpose of this position

We are looking for someone who will work with Lotus Petal Foundation to help take forward our mission and vision to the people in the US

Activity List

Leadership & Management:

  1. 1. The Director Development has to support in managing the operations of Lotus Petal USA and carrying out its mission according to the strategic direction of a board of directors.
  2. 2. Determining the right talent, resources, and tools to implement programs effectively.
  3. 3. Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
  4. 4. Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  5. 5. Actively engage volunteers, board members, events, partnering organizations, and funders.
  6. 6. Regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders etc.

Fundraising & Communications:

  1. 1. Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and regional expansion
  2. 2. Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
  3. 3. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.

Planning & New Business:

  1. 1. Build partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with the funders
  2. 2. Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  3. 3. Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
  4. 4. Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
  5. 5. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
  6. 6. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

About the person:

The candidate should have fundraising knowledge and relationship management experience.

Educational Qualification:

Advanced degree, ideally an MBA

Experience:

  1. 1. At least 10 years of senior management experience; track record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth
  2. 2. Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  3. 3. Excellence in organizational management with the ability to develop highperformance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
  4. 4. Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
  5. 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
  6. 6. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
  7. 7. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  8. 8. Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
